The Daily Delegate
Board of Education delegates were having a lively discussion about improving the school system Saturday morning in Convention Center room B2. Enthusiasm and anticipation filled the room as multiple delegates advocated for their proposals intended to help solve education issues.
These delegates, or presenters, were in the process of passing and denying bills left and right as they weighed pros and cons.
Reese Denva of the Westside delegation said it was a blast being able to see the full process as a presenter. Denva, who was part of Board of Education last year, added that the entire system seemed much more organized this year, pointing to a full schedule of fun activities and contrasting it with the repetition of voting on predetermined bills that marked last year’s experience.
Board members still must decide which proposals are best for improving the education system.
“There are six board members and everyone else are presenters presenting their proposals,” said Board Member Katelyn Liao of the Berkeley delegation.
