In a momentous declaration that reverberated across Youth and Government, the electoral stage has been set ablaze with the announcement of the elections. With the fervor of democracy pulsating through the veins of the populace, anticipation mounts as delegates brace themselves for the political spectacle that lies ahead.
Amidst a backdrop of societal challenges and aspirations for change, the call to action has never been more resounding. Delegates from all walks of life find themselves at the precipice of a decision that will shape the trajectory of Y&G. It’s a time of reflection, deliberation, and ultimately, action.
With the announcement of the election, delegates sat on the edge of their chairs, often patting their legs to mimic a drumroll. The moment each individual has waited for has arrived.
We congratulate Briana Alagba for the amount of dedication, perseverance, and for her amazing personality. Some delegates stated “Briana was very approachable and nice. She is exactly how she presents herself.” It takes great courage to stand up for what you believe in especially in a crowd of so many. We also applaud all candidates for the Secretary of State.
As the 77th Chief Justice, we congratulate Brooke Drew. As stated previously, it is difficult to put yourself out there and Brooke did that and more. Her words were said with power and filled the crowd with an overwhelming sense of hope. We can only expect more exceptional speeches. We also commend each and every Chief Justice contender.
The announcement for Youth Governor was quite different from the announcements for Chief Justice and Secretary of State. Each delegation selected representative(s) from their delegation to announce who they voted for. The air filled with anticipation as the screen displayed numbers that increased, often tied with one another.
That was until Itzak Salazar’s number of votes significantly surpassed Ruby Gewirtz’s. With the crowd roaring, cameras following our 77th Youth Governor, Itzak was sworn in by our 76th Governor, Nicholas Johnson. After being sworn in, he delivered a speech that filled the audience with a warm feeling in their hearts. He thanked his delegation and especially his sister who he says “always inspires and pushes” him to work harder. He then thanked the crowd stating “this was one of the best experiences in my life.”
Words cannot express the amount of gratitude we all feel for our current Government Cabinet in Y&G. As they pass the gavel onto the next set of delegates, we are filled with inspiration and the belief that we can make a difference. We all have our unique stories and it was honorable that each and every delegate voted and made their voices heard. It is because of the bravery of the delegates that we will have a better tomorrow and for that, I personally congratulate you all. So as we go home, back into our normal lives, let’s take the memories and lessons we have learned.
