The difference between Camp Roberts (Bob) and Sacramento (Sac) is that Bob is a military base. It’s literally in middle of nowhere, and serves as the preview for Sacramento. At Bob you sleep stacked in your barrack with your delegation group and walk all over late into the night. Some delegations won’t shower at Bob because of how gross the shower is. At Bob, it’s really dusty and rocky out. You’ll meet different people from different delegation groups.

Sacramento is very different in comparison. You could stay in a nice hotel, being in room with 3 or 4 people from your delegation. It also gets cold outside later at night. In Sac, when you meet new people, you can work with them and have more time to talk to them.

In talking to the East Valley, Westchester, and Palisades delegations , they all tend like their program areas. When asked why, they noted their program areas are mostly debating, hearing other people’s opinions. Some of the delegates are in Media and they like posting on TikTok, Instagram, and articles with delegate interviews.

The delegations don’t really eat the food of that they are served, they bring their own food; in that regard, Sac is a lot like Bob, as the food at Bob is also not considered good by delegates. The food was often cold and hard by the end of meals. The food from Sac is a little better. It really depends what food it is; for example, the burger and the fries from Friday wasn’t that good, but the cookie was good. It seems to be quite variable.

Delegations meet new people in their program areas, or they reconnect with friends from Bob. When making new friends, it’s mostly socializing. For an example, I am the type of person that likes meeting new people, probably getting to know them, and probably having a conservation.

I heard that Sac is better than Bob, and so far that seems to be the case.
