Committee 13 is proposing a bill that aims to increase the rights of those partaking in the state’s homeless shelter program. While basing this bill on preexisting Forum Assembly Bill 102, they have made a change that will drastically increase the lives of many. This committee plans to increase the number of days notice before termination of occupancy in homeless shelters. This will give homeless individuals more time to prepare for leave, and reduce not only the amount of homeless individuals on the street, but also the panic and despair of the people who are unable to support themselves.
