The state funded Immigration legal fellowship project currently supports 13 organizations. The bill wants to double the support to 26 organizations to better help the hundreds of thousands of open immigration cases. An increase in funding is essential to ensure that these cases get the necessary legal help as the number of lawyers working on immigration cases is insufficient. The expansion of this fellowship provides more help and resources, ultimately assisting people in understanding the complex migration system. This expansion will allow immigrants to get the legal help they need in a timely manner.
