Today in California, it is very difficult for students to get Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), with approximately only 13% of students receiving specialized education plans & accommodations. IEPs offer students with disabilities the educational resources and arrangements needed for success. The Assembly of Accessibility & Disability looks for schools to provide a quicker and easier process for those attempting to get these programs.

The objective of this bill is to make getting an Individualized Education Program more accessible. It will ensure the process of obtaining an IEP is more readily available to those who need it. This will benefit children who have learning disabilities and those in need of an IEP. Through this bill, this prevalent minority of students can receive an education through specialized services all in a timely manner. When these students are denied these resources promptly, they are being deprived of crucial education, a basic right for all.
