Physical health is important to everyone. As we all move to college, we tend to forget about our physical health. This can be due to classes, homework, or the many other extracurricular activities that students engage in. The goal for the Senate Committee of Higher Education is to make physical health more accessible to college students in California. We want all of California’s college students to stay healthy, yet the possibility of not having access to or the budget for doctors makes this difficult. We will require private California universities to take 1% of their donations and dedicate it to help the students stay healthy without having to decrease their budget. This money will be used to make stationed clinics at colleges. The colleges who refuse will be subjected to a separate tax. The money that is being raised by the tax will be used to fund food stamps, which would specifically be for these California college scholars.
