The Senate Committee for Higher Education has found a newfound focus on nutritional foods: within Forum’s Senate, they have introduced a new bill aimed at improving physical health access for college students. The proposal would require private universities to dedicate about 1% of their donations to building and maintaining free nutritional meals.

By offering free services on campus, schools could help students stay healthy and focused on their education. The bill also includes an enforcement measure: colleges that refuse to create free food programs would face a separate tax on their donations. Money collected from that tax would be used to fund other food programs for college students. Lawmakers say the proposal is designed to support students health and their academic performance.
