How many times have we seen videos of ICE officers doing things that are not right without getting in trouble? The bill proposed by the Immigration Assembly committee says that all ICE officers must wear body cameras because they show exactly what happens when officers interact with people. If an officer does something wrong, the recordings can be used as proof in court to make sure they follow the rules. This helps identify who was involved so that nobody is taken away, and it makes it harder for people to lie about what happened. This bill makes sure that no one can just disappear without proof.
